Shelter Caturday - Oreo & Mickey

    NewsShelter Caturday!Friday 28 November 2014

Every Saturday we run a special feature on a rescue cat looking for a loving home. This week we have a dynamic duo in the shape of Mickey & Oreo - who are waiting for a loving forever home at Bath Cats & Dogs Home!

Bath Cats & Dogs Home pride themelves on their non-destruction policy and aim to find every animal a new loving home, no matter how long this may take. Formed in 1937 from an amalgamation of local rescue groups, they moved to Claverton Down in 1939 and the space has allowed them to expand to house over 100 dogs, 100 cats, 70 chickens and 30 or so rabbits and small animals at any one time. This includes Orea & Mickey - two handsome cats who have come to the home through no fault of their own.

Oreo is 2 years old and is white with a black tip to his tail. He is very handsome, affectionate and inquisitive - he will always come over and watch what you are up to. He enjoys attention and loves nothing better than being made a fuss of!

Mickey, who is tabby and white, is younger at 12 months old. He is slightly more shy than Oreo but has a very sweet nature. Having settled into the shelter a bit more, the staff are beginning to see his more cuddly and affectionate side - which will certianly come out more and more when he is getting used to his new loving home.

Both cats are suitable for living with children, which means they would make great family cats - although they will need time to settle in when they first arrive at their new home.

Potential owners may be wary taking on two cats at once - but they needn't worry. With cats twice the fun doesn't necessarily mean twice the work, as co-habitting cats will often keep each other company and buying things like food in bulk greatly reduces the upkeep price per cat.

If you think you can provide a loving home to these two handsome fellas, contact Bath Cats and Dogs Home on 01225 787321 or contact them via their website.
