Police investigates death of three cats in the same street within six weeks

    NewsAnimal CrueltyTuesday 11 March 2014

So far, three cats have dead since mid-January in a small area of an East Sussex town, which has pushed the Police to start an investigation.

These three cats were found dead by a woman who lives in Marley Rise in her garden. All of three foundings within the past six weeks, the latest of which was found on February 19 when she returned home at about 4pm.

The first incident was in the middle of January where she found a long haired tabby cat on her driveway. A few days later, on January 31 a short haired ginger cat was also found on her driveway.

Apparently, any injuries which could have caused their death where found on the cats.

In the third incident a young grey sphinx breed cat was found on her doorstep. This cat was underweight and had chunks of fur missing.

PC Jessica Crump said: "The woman has gone to her neighbours to see if their cat is missing. This has obviously been very distressing for the lady and her family who are animal lovers."

Police is asking the community for any information that may help to clear the mystery. Contact police on 101 or email [email protected] quoting serial 1050 of 19/2.
