    Newborn kittens left to die

NewsGeneral Cat NewsThursday 15 September 2011

Two kittens were found in Foxcover Lane, Middle Herrington, just few hours after they had been born.

A dog walker found two kittens, a black and white male and a tortoiseshell female, abandoned in a cardboard microwave box. The newborn kittens had their umbilical cords still attached. Both felines were freezing cold and had their eyes closed. The RSPCA was called immediately. According to the report of the volunteers from the charity, the kittens were distressed as they had been taken from their mum too soon. The RSPCA employees are convinced that the kittens would have died if it hadn’t been for the dog walker who found them.

Both kittens are being nursed back to health at a centre in Middlesbrough and are told to make full recovery. The kittens were found at about 10am on Tuesday, 6th September. Anyone who can provide information about the incident is asked to contact the RSPCA.
