When you buy kittens there are a number of steps to take to make sure that they are kept as safe as possible. Most people searching for kittens for sale know that a lot of a cat’s time is spent away from home. For this reason, it is very important to use means of identifying kittens should they go missing. See the following guide if you want to buy kittens and keep them safe.

    Cat Microchip

Nowadays, after buying kittens for sale, many owners opt to have a cat microchip implanted. These are permanent and tamper-proof. A vet or other qualified expert can inject the microchip between the cat’s shoulder blades just underneath the skin. The chip has a unique number coded into it which lasts forever. This code is stored on a database and is linked to your contact information. This information can be retrieved from the cat microchip using a scanner.

    Cat Tag and Collar

Cat collars are the more traditional and most common form of identifying kittens. However, the issue with these is that they can easily fall off the cat and could cause the cat harm. Cat collars are fitted around the neck of a cat and have a cat tag engraved with the owner’s contact details. This means, if your kitten goes missing and is found by someone, they can easily read the information on the cat tag and get in touch with you immediately to tell you where he is.
