If you have a cat or are thinking of buying one you will know that sometimes accidents happen. Getting cat urine off of carpet is an essential task, if you do not get rid of the cat urine smell then your pet will keep returning to the same spot. Cat pee is particularly pungent so you will need to take extra care to remove the powerful odour which might take some time and perseverance. This cat urine removal guide will help you to be cat pee free!

Getting Rid of Cat Urine Odour

  • Use some kitchen towel to blot the cat urine.

  • Take some further kitchen towel and lay it on top of the stain to make sure all of the moisture from the cat pee has been absorbed.

  • In order to make sure that you really do get the cat urine off of the carpet then apply pressure on the kitchen towels by stepping on them so that it increases absorption.

  • Throw away the damp towels and repeat the process with some fresh kitchen roll.

  • You will need to buy a stain removing and odour eliminating enzyme cleaner.

  • Apply this product onto your carpet following the instructions on the back of the can.

  • The next step in getting rid of the cat urine smell is to apply some carpet cleaner or shampoo.

  • Rinse out the shampoo with warm water.

  • You will have to smell the spot where the cat pee was to make sure the cat urine smell has gone.

  • If you can still smell it then you will have to repeat the process from the enzyme cleaner; you could try a different product if it doesn’t do the job.
