By far, the best place to buy a kitten from is a respected kitten breeder’s. Kitten breeders often only provide pedigree quality kittens and it will cost a lot of money to buy kittens from here but you can be guaranteed that they will be from good parent’s, be healthy, have had all the necessary medical care and possess good personalities. To find out how to buy kittens from kitten breeders, read on.

    Buy Kittens from Kitten Breeders

    • When you buy kittens from kitten breeders, you will have to visit the kitten breeder’s house. Remember that you still have not committed to the sale at this point and if you spot anything untoward you do not have to proceed to buy kittens. You can search for a wide range kittens for sale on Kitten Ads.

    • There are a number of things to look out for before you buy a kitten from kitten breeders. A strong smell of urine or faeces, dirty litter trays, lack of food/water and too many kittens should raise alarm bells. Kitten breeders should not have more than two litters (8-12 kittens usually) of kittens at one time.

    • When you buy kittens from kitten breeders, the mother and kittens for sale should not be kept away from the house. Kitten breeders should keep the kittens inside so that they become socialised and used to the family environment.

    • If kitten breeders won’t let you see the mother when you buy a kitten, alarm bells should ring. No respectable kitten breeders should prevent you from seeing the mother. When you buy kittens, make sure that the mother and the kittens do not look weak or thin. It is however common for some cats to look thin, especially if they have had a large litter.

    • When you buy a kitten, it should not be allowed to leave its mother before 8 weeks old and it should have all its vaccinations. Kitten breeders who pressure you into a sale or break the above rules should be treated with caution. Reputable kitten breeders will ask you questions about yourself and your home too.

    • Some people are tempted to buy kittens from substandard kitten breeders to remove them from that situation but you should avoid this. If you buy a kitten from a bad breeder, you are just allowing the problem to continue. Do not go through with the sale and if you really are concerned, call the RSPCA.

Remember, you can buy a kitten for sale from lots of reputable kitten breeders here on Kitten Ads, if you follow these rules, you will have nothing to worry about. Our guide for Checking Kitten Health may be helpful.
