    • You should feed a cat a balance between wet cat food and dried goods. Dry cat food helps to keep their teeth clean. It is always a good idea to read the label on the cat food to see if that food will give your cat the right level of nutrients for its age. 
    • You will need to consider that cats are snackers and like to eat regular small amounts throughout the day. 
    • If your cat has digestive problems you will need to check with your veterinarian to see if it needs to have a higher fibre content in its diet. 
    • Cats start to show their age between 8 and 10 years. When feeding cats of this age it is important to ensure that their food is highly digestible and palatable. When cats age they gradually lose their abilities to smell, taste, chew and digest. 
    • Twice a day you should feed your cat a measured amount of wet cat food. The dry cat food you can leave out in a dish all day for the cat to snack on.
