Though it has been always part of their job, the London Fire Brigade is urging people not to dial the 999 if a cat gets stuck up a tree.
London has experienced a 60% rise in this type of cases over the last 6 years.
The fire brigades are asking people to ring RSPCA before dialling the 999.
