Fundraising superheroes are being encouraged to take part in a charity fun run in London to help unwanted cats and kittens.

Cats Protection is calling on people to sign up for The Superhero Run to raise funds for the charity, which helps more than 230,000 cats each year.

The run, organised by events firm Do It For Charity, lets participants walk, jog, or run the 5km route around The Regent's Park to raise funds for their chosen charity.

Cats Protection is calling on runners to sign up for the event on May 13 to help it raise funds.
Natasha Hodges, Cats Protection's challenge events administrator, said: "You don't have to have the power to fly or leap tall buildings just by taking part and raising money for Cats Protection, you're a superhero to us.

"It's not only great fun in a wonderful setting, but your efforts enable us to improve the lives of many more unwanted cats and kittens across the UK."

Runners who support the charity will receive a free superhero costume and training tips online.
Participants can register at www.cats.org.uk. Registration is £20 and runners are asked to raise a minimum sponsorship of £100.
