Every Saturday we run a special feature on a rescue cat looking for a loving home. This week the spotlight is on Opal, who is looking for that special home.

Established in 1860, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home aims to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help. They reunite lost dogs and cats with their owners; when they can’t do this they care for them until new owners can be found for them. They also work hard to educate the public about responsible pet ownership including microchipping, neutering and training. This includes educational talks and visits to schools and organisations, events, and publications. They help care for over 9000 cats & dogs a year - including Opal, affectionate and playful young cat who is now looking for that special home.

    Name: Opal

    Sex: Female

    Age: 0 Years 8 Months

    Breed: Domestic Short Hair

    Centre: Battersea

    Reference: 332570

Stunning Opal is an affectionate and playful young cat, though she does know her own mind!

As with some white cats with blue eyes, Opal is deaf, so is looking for a new owner who can care for her certain needs. Understandably she can be easily startled, using vibrations such as tapping near to her or hand signals will get her attention without her reacting out of surprise or fear. She is a young and lively cat, so she would really like some access to a secure outside space.

If you think you could offer Opal a home please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats Home on 0843 509 4444 for more information.
