    Shelter Caturday - Nina

Every Saturday we run a special feature on a rescue cat looking for a loving home. This week the spolight is on dream cat Nina at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home!

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of Dogs but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats and dogs a year, including Nina - an all round wonderful cat currently residing at Battersea's London branch.

We have a feeling that Nina won't be at Battersea for long as she is just one of those beautiful and good natured cats that steal your heart instantly! Her sociable personality and good temperament means she would be a perfect family cat. She's used to living in a lively household and would make an ideal pet for families with children.

Cats and children can sometimes be a testing combination - particularly with very young children or toddlers. Often, the kids just want to show the cat how much they love them but unintentionally can be a bit rough with the feline - who naturally may let the little humans know he or she doesn't appreciate them smothering them, in the form of a hiss or scratch. Nina is used to children's ways and consequently knows they don't mean her any harm - but it is always very important to educate children on how to approach and show affection for a pet.

Nina would love a garden to potter about in and can live in pretty much any location provided she has this. Her only request is that she is the only cat in the household - so she can have all the fuss and attention to herself!

If you could offer Nina a home, please contact Battersea Dogs & Cats home on 08435 094444 or contact them by email on at [email protected]. Madges' reference number is 315098
