Every Saturday we run a special feature on a rescue cat looking for a loving home. This week the spolight is on the calm and affectionate Meethu.

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home is the well-known backdrop of ITV's Paul O'Grady - For The Love Of Dogs but what you see on the show is only a fraction of the work that the shelter do. Battersea takes on over 9000 cats and dogs a year, including Meethu- a calm and affectionate cat waiting for you to take him to a new home.

    Name: Meethu

    Age: 7 Years 5 Months

    Breed: Domestic Medium-hair

    Sex: Male

    Centre: Battersea

    Reference: 321896

Meethu is a calm and affectionate cat who likes to sit next to you once he has got to know you.

It was discovered that Meethu has a deep wound on the underside of his tongue. He may have got it from licking a tin lid, but the cause is unknown. He stoically put up with all his medical treatment and is now well on the mend.

His lovely white paws look a little grubby at the moment as he is still unable to wash himself and he is most appreciative of gentle grooming with his rubber brush.

Once settled, Meethu will need garden access. Prospective owners will need to speak to a Battersea vet prior to rehoming.

If you can offer this little boy a home, please call Battersea Dogs & Cats Home on 0843 509 4444 for more information or contact them by email on at [email protected]
