Shelter Caturday - Eric
Established in 1860, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home aims to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help. They reunite lost dogs and cats with their owners; when they can’t do this they care for them until new owners can be found for them. They also work hard to educate the public about responsible pet ownership including microchipping, neutering and training. This includes educational talks and visits to schools and organisations, events, and publications. They help care for over 9000 cats & dogs a year - including Eric, a social lad who looking for his forever home.

Eric was found wandering the streets; it is unknown how long he had been fending for himself. He was nervous when he first arrived and took some time to feel safe and relax.
Once settled Eric is social and enjoys chilling with you on the sofa whilst you watch TV or playing games.
Battersea screens all cats on arrival for the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Eric has tested positive. FIV is a slow-acting virus and most infected cats live healthy and happy lives for many years. In order to protect the cat population at large from the risk of catching it and to preserve the health of the carrier, Battersea rehomes FIV+ cats to indoor homes.
Eric will now need to be kept as an indoor cat but he has obviously lived an active outdoor life previously, due to this he will need access to an enclosed and secure outside space, e.g.balcony, roof terrace, secure run or similar.
He is currently in a foster home local to Windsor, if you are interested in offering him a home please call the centre directly on 01784 494460.
