Saint pets from Carlisle
Animal lovers had a chance to have their pets blessed in the grounds of Carlisle Cathedral in Cumbria last Tuesday.
The service of blessing dogs and cats was led by Canon Michael Manley and over 50 pet owners attended the ceremony that included hymns and a bible reading, according to BBC News. The event was one of a series of events being held as part of Love Parks Week, a national scheme to celebrate public green spaces.
The Carlisle Cathedral is located in the far North of England, few miles from the Scottish border. The Cathedral was founded in 1122 and services have been said and sung daily in it for nearly 900 years.
