Kitten found at Royal Highland Show at Ingliston
A four-week-old kitten, which should not have left its mother yet, has been found abandoned at the Royal Highland Show.
She was found sitting on top of a pallet, crying for her mother, at the Ingliston site on Sunday.
The Scottish SPCA said it had received reports of kittens and puppies being sold from cars at outdoor events.
The kitten has been named Annie and is being cared for at the charity's care centre in Balerno.
Ch Supt Mike Flynn, of the Scottish SPCA, said the man who found her first thought her calling was a mobile phone ring tone.
He added: "We can only assume that she was left there by someone as she's far too young to have been able to make her way there herself. She should be with her mother as she's only four weeks old.
"We have received reports of kittens and puppies being sold from cars at outdoor events such as this in the past, but we are not aware of any such activity at the Royal Highland Show this year."
