    Kitten shot with air rifle

    NewsAnimal CrueltyMonday 11 July 2011

Twinkle, an eight-month old kitten was shot with an air rifle near its home in East Ewell.

Everything happened when a tiny cat went out as usually. When the kitten did not return, its owner started to worry about the cat. After three days, a cat owner’s son, spotted his kitten Twinkle in a neighbour’s garden. At the beginning, everyone thought that the cat simply was too afraid to come back home, however, when they brought the cat home, they felt a lump at the kitten’s tail while stroking. Immediately, Twinkle was taken to the vet who identified an air gun pellet.

The attack comes just few weeks after a 2-year old cat was shot with an air gun rifle in Lower Kingswood. Police encourage people to report such events. Anyone with information should call Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222 quoting reference P11178169.
