Healthy cats to be put down?
Due to the record number of strays many healthy cats might be put down, according to the warning launched yesterday by the RSPCA.
The number of abandoned cats has risen 28% year on year. We have been informing about many charities that have to close their doors and do not admit any more animals as all the places are occupied. As there are not sufficient found to provide all the animals a private boarding or foster homes, many animals that are healthy have had to be put down.
The RSPCA said that the problems were made worse because many owners failed to neuter their cats, although the free neutering campaign was launched in February, the number of stray cats has incremented.
