    Cats starved to death

A woman who starved her two cats to death pleaded guilty at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court. The woman, aged 30, was denying her cats Fluffy and Tigger food and water in the hope they would die and so she would no longer be burdened with the responsibility of looking after them, according to Cambridge News.

The woman was caught red-handed by RSPCA inspector when she was trying to leave the bodies of two dead cats in a bin bag outside her home in February. An autopsy found the black cat Fluffy and the ginger tabby Tigger significantly underweight with easily-seen ribs, spines and pelvic bones, empty stomachs and intestines. The RSPCA officers say that the cats must have suffered a slow death as they had been deliberately left to die.

The woman admitted not giving food to their cats as she did not have enough money and she did not ask anyone for help because she did not want to. She went on holidays with her boyfriend for a week and when she came back, the cats were dead.
