Cat Lover’s Long Court Ordeal
An animal lover from Devon who adopted a flea-ridden cat was wrongly prosecuted by the RSPCA for neglecting it.
The woman, aged 36, was unaware of a skin condition of the 5-year-old cat when she adopted it. The condition of its skin caused cats fur to fall out when she took it in. Once the problem got more serious, the woman asked the RSPCA for advice that instead of help the woman, arrested her and quizzed under caution and hauled before a court. Fortunately, the magistrates in Barnstaple, Devon, threw out the case this week after it emerged that the woman had done everything possible to help her feline.
