A cat saves its life from a crushing machine
A cat has saved its life by narrowly escaping a horrific death in a crushing machine.
Staff working at Haverfordwest’s civic amenity and recycling centre on Saturday morning hear a faint sound coming from the cardboard crushing machine and luckily found the feline inside one of the boxes.
The cat had been wandering around the centre for a few days and made its way into the cardboard crushing machine by itself..
‘Skip the cat’, as she has now been named, has been collected by volunteers at Greenacres Animal Rescue Centre after after trying to search for her owner.
Mikey Lawlor from Greenacres states: “She’s in an awful state. She’s very underweight with bad flea burden and covered in ticks. We are hoping that it is just lack of care and food that has left her like this.
“She is booked into vets this evening (Monday) for full check up.
According to the Greenacres staff Skip is very sweet and friendly, and she will be re-homed once she recovers from this traumatic experience.
If anyone would like to donate some food to ‘Skip’ or give a donation towards her care, visit www.greenacresrescue.org.uk or call the team on 01437 781745.
