700 cats rescued
Exactly 692 cats have been seized from a Haven Acres Cat Sanctuary in Florida, USA. The couple running the centre has been charged with 35 counts of animal cruelty and they both have bonded out of jail.
Animal services rescued the cats from the sanctuary in June. The case is one of the largest cat hoarding cases in the history of the country. The cats were put in a warehouse that became a makeshift shelter and about 100 of them had to be put down. Other kittens are being treated by veterinary students at University of Florida. The cats have to be spayed and neutered.
The cats are going to be put up for adoption in September.
