Why is My Cat Sneezing?

Why is My Cat Sneezing?
A sneezing cat is very common. If you notice an increase in the amount of cat sneezing, it could signify an unwell cat. It could mean a cat cold. There is normally nothing to worry about, but this does not mean you should ignore cat colds. See the following advice on cat sneezing causes.

Sneezing Cats

  • First, you can decide on whether you think the cat has an upper respiratory infection. The symptoms of this condition will usually be swollen eyes and cat sneezing. Cat colds such as this are brought on by bacteria or viral infections. A visit to the vet will be necessary in this instance.

  • If the cat is not showing the previous symptoms, check there is nothing lodged in his nose. A sneezing cat could have sniffed too much dust or a small object up his nose. In this case, the cat sneezing should eventually dislodge these unwanted blockages.

  • Does your cat have allergies? In the same way that we humans get hayfever, cats too can be affected by dust pollen and mould. By cleaning your house thoroughly and on a regular basis, you will avoid excess cat sneezing in certain cases.

  • If none of these symptoms or causes seem applicable, and the cat sneezing continues, you should take your pet to the vet for more information.
